| During the turtle egg laying season, each turtle will lay eggs two to three times a year, at a time interval of 10 to 14 days. Each time, they will lay between 70 to 120 eggs. Unfortunately, only less than 10% of these eggs will have the chance to reach maturity. As conscientious islander, we will help to protect these h..bill turtle eggs and keep them from harm until they hatch 60 to 65 days later. Once the turtle lay eggs, we will collect and re-bury them in a safe place, away from predators and irresponsible people who sell the eggs for consumption. When they hatch, we will release them back into the sea, hoping they will have the chance to live to maturity. |
